Security Incidents and Bushy Beards

Pre-session Bullshit:

The gang sorted out the problem in Gathernotch, everything went super smoothly. We left with Bobby as he decided to change allegiance to the Hallowdawn. Victory gets a fire elemental.

Summary

Some more spying on the Triumvirate, gossip in the pub with bushy beards, strange visits to a pharmacist that you should not trust unless you want fantasy-herpies, unfortunate security incidents, more clairvoyance and writing letters.

Goddess Haela

Some information that the crew found about Haela is that she’s a goddess of battle - and it a primary diaries of a Kirkja Karaad clan (along with god of war Hanseath) - considered a couple.

Ranmur Karaad - can be a ruthless leader and most likely department 12 are answering to him.

Spying through clairvoyance

Biri uses a clairvoyance on the chamber before the morning meeting starts. In the room, the three Triumvirate are having a conversation and Kathselle is the one who has the gem.

• Ranmur: ‘it is only a matter of time - I don’t want to move too fast’
• Kathselle ‘rushing to war is not the correct course of action’
• Thoryl: ‘I have made mistakes before with this, I am concerned.’
• Kathselle: ‘I am not rushing anything, I am concerned that once our old foes will know what we are doing, we need to plan to deal with it, whether trade or armouring’
• Ranmur: ‘When do we tell the people? We should increase production’
• Thoryl: ‘People should know before we make any steps’
• Kathselle: ‘Come up with a plan first before telling them. We need to increase production’

All of the Triumvirate agree to increase production.

Order of Gem rotation:

• Kathselle for another 2 days (including today)
• Thoryl - 3 days
• Ranmur next

The gang have 4.5 days before Ranmur takes the gem.

The mistake the Thoryl referred it was when there was a the 3rd Battle of Gathernotch, he created a tech piece that destroyed 35 enemy troupe carriers, and killed lots of people. He is considered a war hero. From what we know about him, he is not Amoruk Unrol but was elected by them because he is a charismatic leader, was a factory line worker before. Known for his craftiness and invention.

Shopping for the Zone of Truth

With the idea of maybe needing to taking to people in a form of being interrogated, Caely set out on her way to find a Zone of Truth scroll.
As she is walking around the lower level of the tongs, she spots Bobby - he looks shabbier than he usually does. Spot 3 people people shadowing Bobby.

Caely finds Coco’s Concoctions, a magic shop that sells health potions and general cures. It is a shabby looking shop ran by a kobold owns the shop - orange lizard looking.

Caely bargains down the Zone of Truth (2nd level) spell scroll.

Before leaving the shop, Caely almost buys some dark healing potions that ‘cleans out issues downstairs’ or that ‘give herpies’.

On her way back, Caely goes through markets, but does not find any empty market stalls. Also no hat shops around.

Biri checks in on Bobby, who knows that he is being followed by at least 3 people, and he is heading over to work.

Caely’s bushier beard

Caely turns into yet another dwarf and follows the disenfranchised dwarves after the morning meeting to the pub. As she approaches them, they are older and all have swards at their hips. She introduces herself as Thorun Aldershot, and asks for some advice following the meeting with the Triumvirate. She meets Amdek Ithrun, Bemyrl Ithrun, Thoyldr Ithrun. The dwarves mentioned that the Triumvirate forget the things that has happened. Kathselle used to be good but then she started talking to the youngsters.

Amdek: ‘The mechanical things are a big change. the machines came a few weeks ago, some sort of tech innovation that is going to change our lives. There were wars and they were brutal, which we thought in. People forget! When you have this kind of power and machines and others don’t, come battle/war - it may be bad. And we do not know who is in charge. Thoryl is an inventor - maybe it was him that created it. Maybe he started to create them again. But Thoryl has been a good guy - but the possibilities are not good.

There are chances that we are going to war. People are seem to be excited about technologies. We wrote letters to all of them, Kathselle reassured us that they will not be used for war. Kathselle is a good one. We don’t know that they are not using it for their own gain. We tried to talk to people, tried to get a meeting. Most folks see extra security / efficiency / growth of Gathernotch. They don’t know about the terrors of the past.’

The best ways to find these dwarves is in the pub or at the meeting.

Caely mentioned to the three dwarves about people loosing jobs because of modrons.

The Security Incident

Victory tries to sneak into the afternoon meeting as gas, however causes a security incident instead because the air is filtered. Victory has 2 enforcers coming towards her, but she does manage to slip through a window just in time. She wanted to get through the second time but the guards are not letting people in because of the dangerous security incident, we are not letting anyone in. And when Biri tries to clairvoyance into the meeting, the Triumvirate are not there, it seems like they have been taken into a secure location while the rest of the guards are looking for the gas.

Letters

Biri decides to write the letters to Kathselle & Thoryl.

In the letter

• It’s from the party. Made clear.

• We would like to help, someone is looking for our help.

• Unwilling to give if we’re under arrest

• We think we’ve given all the information necessary

• Concerned about the use of Modrons outside Gathernotch

• Factioning happening in Gathernotch, liable to start an intra-clan war

• Department 12 acting in a way that is not in the interest of the clan

• Potentially breaking the creed

• Given the address of Claudia’s apartment as a dead drop

• Need full immunity for protection

• Thoryl - being used as a weapon. Likely that population could blame you

• Kathselle - you don’t want Khro Ithrun to be blamed for inter-clan fighting because of warrior culture. Respectful. Knows what it’s like for war to be a problem.

Carrier Pigeons

To get the letters to Kathselle & Thoryl, Victory turns into gas and flies over with Biri’s letters. There are no windows where the meeting room for triumvirate, and other rooms are curtained mostly.

Victory heads down one of the chimneys and as she emerges from the fire place, there is a long desk and a few chairs. The photos of 12 siblings and designs of machines suggest that it is Thoryl’s room, and he is in the room. Looking in from the fireplace there is a long desk and a few chairs. Thoryl is in the room.

Down a different Chimney there is a kitchen with a couple of night chefs, preparing and cleaning surfaces.

Bobby’s adventures

Ganymede checks in on Bobby, everything seems normal, no moves were made on Bobby. He apologises for being out, due to some personal circumstances (Biri you heartbreaker). There has been no contact from department 12.

He is working on murders, there was a bar fight that got out of hand. Other than that, he is working on police manuals for detecting blood splatter patterns.

Tabloid Papers

• The Khro Ardol times - propaganda & factual information mix
• Karthiel Journal - mostly a gossip rag
• The Bhaldar - more critical - offers different perspective to the Khro Ardol Times, evaluates stories differently. Not critical on the modrons though. Talks about Triumvirate pasts in a negative light.
