Bailed

In the morning, Caely and Victory visited the offices of the Jacquard Trading Company to bail out Flint and Jarvis after they were arrested. It cost them 4 gold each for stealing and 25 gold for Jarvis’ attempt to shoot a guard. Jarvis was also required to leave Jacquard that evening and not return for 2 months.

Victory processed the payment through the Hallowdawn, naming Obis as the payee.

Getting the Manifest

To try and get their hands on the manifest, Caely tried to convince the clerk at the offices that the package was missing and they needed the manifest details. After trying a number of completely fabricated shipping numbers, Caely bribed the Clerk to see the package and manifest.

The party were blindfolded and escorted through the warehouse. Caely and Flint managed to remember the route despite this. Once they saw the gem, they noticed that the manifest was read:

Having realised that they’ve been misled by Lester, the party decided to speak to Director Stone.

The Suit

The party spoke to Stone, who believed them to be the security for shipping the gem. They weren’t going to ship the gem until the pirates had been dealt with. The party agreed to deal with the pirates. They came up with a plan to:

1. Get rid of the pirates on The Circumstances, potentially convincing Jean Luc to join them.
2. Provide Darkshadow with a fabricated manifest, 1 day earlier than the expected shipment date.
3. Destroy or take over the pirate ship from the inside

Victory asked Stone to send a message to Lester for her, on the next available ship:

Dear Lester,

Victory here, writing from Jacquard after having spoken with Mr Stone.

I wanted to share my utter disappointment with your greater intents and not telling me about the importance of this mission. I feel betrayed by you and by the guild. We were not given enough money, enough supplies or ammunition to complete this mission. And now I find out that you are doing this to transport the gem that holds this plain?

And surprisingly, the reason why there is piracy between Valor and Jacquard is because they are aware of your evil plans. And I am not going to clear up your mess! Not again!

This is unacceptable behaviour from you. I am disappointed. May I remind you what I did to get you in the position that you hold in the guild?

We are going to fight the pirates, we are going to defeat them, and when we are done, I am coming back to transport the gem myself. Yes, that does mean that the shipment is going to be delayed, and it is in your best interest to help us. And I will only deliver the gem WHEN and only WHEN I have spoken to the elder of the guild. And believe me this is going to cost you.

With the help of Brendan, the party dropped the pirates. Jean Luc was forced to surrender, however at the thought of being part of a mutiny, Jean Luc quickly switched sides and became very enthusiastic about the plan.
