Time to Face The Ozak

Victory and Biri headed to the Hallowdawn. Upon arrival, the bursar informed Victory that she was required to meet with Ozak immediately. Biri headed to the library to research the abandoned outpost.

As she went to enter the doors to Ozak’s office, Lester Brightcloak stepped out from the other side in a somewhat jovial mood. Before Victory could enter, he whispered in her ear “Let’s hope you make a better job of this than you did at being a mother”, setting Victory on edge.

In the meeting, Ozak tore into Victory over her failures in Gathernotch, but seemed somewhat mollified with the delivery of the Planar Gem of the Beastlands. Victory asked why Lester was in the room before her. Ozak informed Victory that Lester found the Planar Gem of Ghenna.

Upon learning of the the potential problem in the abandoned outpost, Ozak gave his blessing for Victory to pursue the lead, as if the strange happenings led to a gem or some other power, it would be of use to the Hallowdawn.

Victory asked after Claudia, but it turned out that she had been suspended after the events in Gathernotch. Ozak allowed Victory to bring her along with them to resolve the outpost problem, and said that she could be reinstated if she could prove herself to be of value to the Hallowdawn. She had last been seen drinking at the Stout Halfling.

Victory received 1500 gold from the bursar to fund this expedition.

Searching the Library

Biri searched for information surrounding abandoned outpost. And with a natural 20 investigation, she discovered that:

• The outpost was called Tambour
• Hundreds of people died in the disaster
• The survivors talk about a wraith or black smoked figure
• Most people consider it to be an industrial accident
• The incident happened around 60 years ago
• The chalks to the outpost may still be up but some of them will certainly have broken without maintenance

Biri also searched for information surrounding the combined uses of the Planar Gems. However, any books on the subject seemed to have sections where pages had been magically removed.

Caely joined the research team, and together with Biri they researched potential creatures that might match up to the descriptions given by the survivors of Tambour. Potential candidates included Shadow Demons and Wraiths.

Caely also attempted to gather information from the pubs at the docks, but only succeeded in being hit on.

Claudia and Ashok

Victory found Claudia at the Stout Halfling downing her sorrows. After finding out about the job, Claudia was quiet for a few moments before drunkenly hugging Victory. She would meet them at The Circumstances tomorrow afternoon.

Biri updated Ashok. The two pondered the fact that they hadn’t seen any other evidence of their faith in the Seam aside from the two of them. He agreed to meet the party at The Circumstances the next day.

Provisioning

The next day was spent provisioning.

Caely bought an additional 10ft^3 tank and filled it with an additional two days of arcanum gas.

Biri spent 300 gold to acquire a diamond for a Revivify spell.

Of the 1500 gold given for provisions, Victory gave

• 200 to everyone, including Claudia
• 200 to party funds
• 500 to Victory’s secret rainy day fund

Victory purchased 8 bags of potion ingredients.
Caely purchased a lesser healing potion for herself, and Biri purchased a greater healing potion.

Brewing takes 3 days for a lesser, 5 for a greater and is a potion skill check (Victory has proficiency). Ingredients are used up on a failed check.
