Pre-session Bullshit:

Caely set up a fake hatshop (Sham-peaux/Chapeaux). Bobby became an expert performer and jazz pianist. Biri talked nicely to the Triumvirate and
they gave her the gem. Victory got a fire elemental.

Captain’s Log: May 4th

The Situation room

Bobby disclosed that he had seen the woman who had arrested Biri – Nildred, she has high level clearance, works on 3rd floor, with justice department. Department 12. The way he said it sounded particularly ominous.

Bobby then told us more about the various clans, and their history:#

• Kirkja Karaad – believe it is their divine right to expand, used to be ruled by a Pontifex (often hereditary position).
• Khro Ithrun – fierce warrior clan – leaders are selected based on some aspect of stewardship along with proof through combat for leadership
• Amoruk Unrol – system of election for general populace for a leader for life – this was transformed into the way of electing lifelong leaders in the current system.

Late night, we arrived back at the Situation, and discussed our options:

• Steal the gem
• Persuade leaders via political route
• Involve populace
• Assassination? Risky…
  would it even accomplish our aims or just make it harder to get the gem?
• Caely disguise as modron, Victory as populace – fight?… a little far flung but potentially amusing.

Meanwhile, Ganymede flew off to look for modrons. He saw fair number of patrols, most of which have dwarves, spotted around 14 patrols with modrons out of 17 total patrols (usually 3 dwarves, 1 modron)

Victory waits outside factory as gas – people seem tired and stressed out. Victory enters the factory and slightly startles some of the workers as smoke is not particularly welcome.

Captain’s Log: May 5th

Morning

Victory re-disguises Biri – something slightly unnatural, but cloak kind of solves it. Definitely worth practising this disguising business…

Bobby, Victory and Biri head off to the Amoruk with Ganymede – up to third floor. There is a long corridor, with 3 sets of double doors along corridor (‘something dwarvish’ 1, ‘something dwarvish’ 2, ‘something dwarvish’ 3). A few strange looks to the cloaked one, but nothing too obvious. They enter the police department, which is a wide open-plan office with lots of desks. Bobby’s desk has his crime novels stacked up on one corner, and a slightly overflowing in tray on the other.

A female dwarf, Nildred, from Dept 12 comes to talk to Bobby – she is looking for the fugitives from Velour. Bobby didn’t seem to like Nildred, apparently she’s previously been involved in some ‘shady business’. Victory follows her to a walled off part of the office. Nildred works in a much darker, smokey room, with boards with pictures. She asks Monal if he has assets in Gathernotch, and sets them to tail Bobby Fisher.

One wall is covered in pictures, including 2 fairly accurate drawings of Biri and Victory followed by a drawing of an elven woman with brunette hair, who might resemble Caely. There are links to a drawing of Ozak and discussions on Hallowdawn, notes about the gem and its history (short), lots of questions tied to each of the team.

Ganymede gets placed on coat hook.

Bobby directs Biri to the 4th floor office, directly over the office coffee station.

Back on the ship.

Biri casts clairvoyance to department 12.

They are talking about Bobby and our team, Nildred apparently recognised Biri earlier, and now wants to capture all of team. Told you we needed to work on our disguises.

Bobby is in the Bright Steel Blue, at 10am.

Biri sending Bobby a message: ‘Your tail is being tripled, or more, they saw me. Take care of yourself, and I hope you don’t get found. They know where you are.’

Reply: I’d been in tough situations before, I was going to keep my calm and avoid confrontation. If they come for the ship, I wanted them to run.

Bobby begins to take evasive/routine actions.

Caely takes the Hiccup to park in a different spot.

Biri tries clairvoyance into Triumvirate room – space not in use.

The next plan: find the hesitant people, at the end of a Triumvirate meeting. Caely disguised as new dwarf, waited outside for hesitant people to leave. She saw them but too late, heading down to tongs. Having missed those people, she heads to a tavern, and starts a conversation around modrons, ‘coming over here stealing our jobs’. Some people aren’t swayed, some are a little pissed off, but don’t feel like it’s worth reporting. She gradually gets drunker, and people pay a little less attention.

Ganymede still in the offices. It is evening – the office is quieter, maybe 1 person still left, a few lights left on, and a nightshift on opposite side of the room. Department 12 has a light on. Bobby did not come back to his desk, but no one searched his desk either. There are a couple of voices inside 12 – ‘Bobby hasn’t left bar all day’, they want to ‘put someone on docks’, and ‘either side of the bridge’. They plan to search his desk too. ‘Hail Haela’.

Victory heads as gaseous form to the Brightsteel Blue. See Bobby crying over a breakup [?zoom cut out here?]. 3 nondescript DwarvesTM who seem to be following him, they appear puzzled/pissed off.

Victory visits Claudia’s apartment, and tries to pick the lock… having become frustrated with that, she opened it from inside instead. Left the door closed but unlocked.

Ganymede – warning! Big butch dwarf tearing through Bobby’s desk. Bobby has handwritten notes on gem – presumably they already had copies, and can now know what was said in interrogations. Bobby’s research on us, a few question marks around ‘Caely’. Bobby’s concerns over the seam. Bobby’s notes cut short and stop being added to about a week before he appeared in Velour. And no mention of his trip to Velour. Bobby seems very interested in subject and has personal concerns about the gem. He appears to have a motive for acting against interests of Triumvirate.

Biri sending How is it going, hope you’re doing okay? Is there anyone influential you could hide out with that might prevent your arrest.

Bobby sending My arrest? Hic? Those words weren’t good to hear. I didn’t Hic have a lot of friends in high places, but I’d try hic to stay public. Hic.

Biri sending They’ve searched your desk. Not sure if it will give them cause but they’re trying real hard to find and excuse.

Bobby sending They’ve hic probably gotten bored of my piano man. I’d try and stay with a friend. More eyes the better. SING US A SONG PIANO…

Biri casts clairvoyance and sees that Department 12 empty – but there’s an additional piece of string tying Bobby to Biri.
