The Guild Wars

“The Guild Wars” refers to a period of many separate wars and conflicts within the Seam between large numbers of guilds. It resulted in the destruction of several ancient guilds and the loss of a large number of outposts.

Much of Velour was destroyed and had to be rebuilt.

Often, the primary war goals were control of the portal and stitcher contracts.

The Guild Wars came to and end with the establishment of an independent organisation to manage the distribution of contracts, defence of the portal and arbitration of guild conflicts.

The First Great War signalled the start of the Guild Wars period.

March 3rd 5456 - The Battle of Axes

The dwarven clans of Kirkja Karaad (Holy Fire), Amoruk Unrol (Heart Stone) and Khro Ithrun (Iron Sword) fought a great battle. The battle lasted for over a month and completely decimated the dwarven population in the Seam.

March 3rd 5457 - Khro Ardol is Formed and Gathernotch is Established

The first Triumvirate of Khro Ardol was formed from the leaders of Kirkja Karaad, Amoruk Unrol and Khro Ithrun. Gathernotch was established as a military outpost, and rallying point for all dwarven-kind in the Seam.

August 5th 5462 - August 15 5478 - The Khro Ardol Civil War

The Khro Ardol attacked a band of Kirkja Karaad hold outs who rejected the notion of unification. Other splinter groups became enraged, perceiving this as an infringement on their independence and they independently each declared war on Khro Ardol.

After the death of Kordelda of Kirkja Karaad, the Khro Ardol Triumvirate committed large numbers of forces to wipe out the remaining splinter groups of independent clans within 12 weeks, bringing an end to the civil war.

August 4th 5586 - Khro Ardol Declare War on The Hallowdawn

The Khro Ardol declared war on The Hallowdawn after two Khro Ardol dwarves attempted to break into their Velour headquarters and steal a magical artifact. The dwarves were caught and publicly executed, which enraged the Triumvirate.

January 18th 5587 - The First Battle of Gathernotch

Daernis of Kirkja Karaad and Lyesgiel of Amoruk Unrol were both killed in The First Battle of Gathernotch by Hallowdawn spies who had disguised themselves and slipped into the ranks of the Khro Ardol warships.

Ebnar managed to lead the Khro Ardol to victory and forced the Hallowdawn to pay reparations both for the death of the two dwarves in Velour, as well as for Daernis and Lyesgiel.

July 31st 5612 - November 1st 5660 - The Fourth Great War

The Second Battle of Gathernotch - November 30th 5654

Ebnar of Khro Ithrun was killed by a ballistae bolt during this battle. Khro Ardol were eventually victorious, though much of Gathernotch was destroyed.

May 23rd 5715 - December 31st 5721 - The Last Great War

The Fifth and Last Great War signalled the end of the Guild Wars period.

The Third Battle of Gathernotch

The Khro Ardol won this battle. A decisive blow was dealt to the enemy when an invention created by Thoryl Bands destroyed over thirty-five enemy troop carriers.
